Background of the issue:
J'ai défini par défaut ma langue en anglais sur mon site geutz.com, mais sur l'administration, la langue origine reste en français et il m'est impossible de la modifier.

Symptoms:
La langue origine de l'administration reste en français malgré la définition de l'anglais comme langue par défaut.

Questions:
Comment puis-je modifier la langue origine de l'administration pour qu'elle corresponde à la langue par défaut définie?
Existe-t-il une configuration spécifique à vérifier qui pourrait empêcher la modification de la langue de l'administration?

Hi there,

Please go to Users->Locate your profile and edit -> Set the admin language to be English or French, and update.

This will adjust the WP backend language, however, if a page or post had been created in the past in French and then translated into English, then the original language of that page is indeed French, that cannot change.

Thanks a lot,

Now I undestand. I think that pages had been created in french. May it possible to change the language in the database ?
Actually, the backend language was in french but the texts are in english.

You can change it, but it will require a few steps.

Go to pages->edit the page in question and at the sidebar you will notice a dropdown for "Language of this page", are you able to switch it to English?

If yes, then go ahead and afterward you will need to reconnect it with the existing translation or make a new one.

Review this documentation please:

Let me know your results, please.

I backuped the database and change all language_code to 'en' in the icl_translations tables.

Did the changes in the database work OK for you? Please note that we do not recommend or encourage doing this directly in the database as it can result in unexpected results.

What are your results when trying to translate automatically? Are you getting any errors?

Is the option to translate automatically greyed out?

I'd recommend reverting to before making database changes with a backup, we do not recommend doing this as it can cause such issues.

Apart from that, create a new page and try to translate are you able to automatically translate it?

Please also verify that you have enough credits in your account.

Let me know your results, please.
