Hi,

Thank you for the very detailed recording, that helps a lot.

Regarding your first question, you could achieve this in more than one way.
The simplest and quickest solution would be to translate that page manually, and configure the header in the French page as you like.
You can see how to do that in our documentation here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Regarding the Avada global container, please make sure you are following our documentation here on how to translate global elements:
https://wpml.org/announcements/2018/10/avada-global-elements-and-wpml-are-integrated/

Finally, regarding the third issue, I suggest you also translate it manually, as that will be the simplest way for this issue as well.

Please update me if these answer your questions. If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate to reply.

Hi...thanks for the reply:

Questions:
1/ How to make the font size in the French version of the menu smaller so it fits
2/ Missing member logos section (title and button) in the translation page
3/ Change layout for one section of one page because French text is longer and breaks the design

Responses:
1/ You wrote that I should "translate that page manually" - I'm asking about the global menu, nothing specific to a page.

2/ You suggested I use the global element translator - done, thank you! I've never reviewed the list of global elements like that before. By the way, it's different than what your documentation shows, though! Avada has changed since that video was made.

3/ What do you mean "translate it manually"...? I looked at the first link you sent (using different translation editors for different pages) but when I check our settings, I have "Translate what you choose" set, and there's no way to change it (the change mode link is greyed out .)

So...done with #2, but #s 1 & 3 still requiring assistance.
Thanks,
Jason

Okay, let's handle the third issue first.

What you want is to configure the layout of the translated page, separately from the original page. The simplest way to do that is by using the WordPress editor to edit the translation.
You can set which translation editor to use by:
- Opening that page in the WordPress editor, in the original language
- Going to the "Language" section on the side
- Changing the "Translate this Document" option from "WPML Translation Editor" to "WordPress Editor"
Then, when you update the translation you won't be sent to the Advanced Translation Editor, you will be sent to the WordPress editor of that page in the secondary language, and you can configure the layout as you want.

The "Translate what you choose" setting does not change which translation editor you use. That setting tells WPML to either translate all your site's content automatically, or translate content which you choose.

Ok thanks...It's very un-intuitive, but I'll figure it out! So, that was issue #3, but the important one is the first one, and you didn't address that...

"How to make the font size in the French version of the menu smaller so it fits"
You wrote that I should "translate that page manually" - I'm asking about the global menu, nothing specific to a page.

Thanks,
Jason

Yes, I wanted to address the issues one by one to avoid any confusion.

Regarding the final issue, in some themes it is possible to configure the font size of the menu from the Appearance -> Customize tab. I do not recall if Avada has this option. If so, it is possible to translate it via WPML -> String Translation.
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/how-to-translate-theme-options/

If Avada does not have this option, it's possible that you may need some additional custom code for this.

Please try to see if you can find that option. If not, I can take a look and suggest an alternative.
