I am trying to:
translate attributes in product with variantion

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

example:

(that is in english, and original is in danish (denmark))

I expected to see:
translated options to choose in variant (all possibilities like in original language), but if i try to translate (in advanced translator editor) and aprove change (translated words) that i see change only on edit product page, but not see to chose on product page,
and some of variantion is disabled (see that on edit product page)
i add some images to better describe that

I checked the mentioned product in the front end, and both languages seem to have the same variations. Could you please let me know how to reproduce the issue?

If the issue happens only in the backend, please provide a screen recording video while reproducing the issue.

no, it is not the same:
dk version: hidden link
eng version: hidden link

please look at first option (overflade) on dk and there is 3 options,
but on eng only 2 options (one of it is translated and it is not display on list to option)

Thanks for your update. Could you please try the following steps?

1- Edit the product in the default language
2- Edit all variations' price
3- Update the product
4- Update the product's translation

Please try the following steps after taking a database backup.

1- Go to WPML-> Support-> Troubleshooting
2- Run the functions one by one (Kindly check this hidden link)
3- Update the product in the default language and its translation
4- Clear the cache and check the front end

I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

Your next answer will be private, which means only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Hi,

Thanks for the access details. The "Krom" variations were not copied to the translated product, so I edited all "Krom" variations to replace "Krom" with "Nikkle" and updated the product in the default language.

After that, I reverted them to "Krom", which fixed the issue, and the variations were saved correctly.

Please check the translated product and let me know if it works correctly. (hidden link)

after a quick check it seems to work,
although it is unclear to me why changing/adding variant translations can cause such problems,

is there any mechanism to automate this operation?

Hi,

Thanks for your update. Changing the variation and updating the product forces the database to resave the product, which helps WPML to copy the variation to the translated language.

I don't think there is an automatic approach to this workaround, but you don't need it unless you face this issue with specific variations.

I think we can close, and possibly you can consider adding to the wpml itself (for woocommerce) an automatic function that could do it itself when modifying the translation of attribute values (local)
