Background of the issue:
I am trying to display Norwegian translations on the frontend of our website. Our Norwegian translator, Elise, has completed the translations for certain pages, such as Cyprus and Croatia, in WPML's Translation Editor. The translations are marked as completed. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Additional Issue – Missing Pages in Translation Queue (Norwegian):

Our Norwegian translator, Elise, has also reported that several pages and articles are not appearing in her "Translation Queue" on the backend. As a result, she’s manually navigating the website and accessing pages from the frontend to locate and edit content that hasn’t been translated or needs review (due to previous translation work).

What we’d like to know:
Is there a way to force these pages/articles to appear in the Translation Queue, or to refresh the queue so that everything needing translation is visible and manageable from one place?

Symptoms:
Despite the translations being marked as completed in WPML's Translation Editor, the pages still display in English on the frontend. This issue persists even after refreshing the page and clearing the browser cache.

Questions:
What might be causing the frontend to not reflect the translated version?
What steps can we take to fix this issue?

Hi,

Our second-tier supporter instructed me to take a copy of your site and esclate this issue for further investigation. Please allow me to take a copy of your site. For this, I must install a plugin like Duplicator or All In One Migration. Please let me know if you agree.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi Itamar,

Yes, of course — you can go ahead and take a copy of the site. Feel free to install Duplicator or All In One Migration as needed.

Let me know if you need anything else from my side.

Best regards,
Linda

Previously, we were primarily facing issues with Norwegian translations, but we have identified a new and distinct issue affecting translations specifically in the Dutch language. Despite having completed and saved translations for Dutch content, the WPML editor is not recognizing them as done, and they are not displaying correctly on the front end.

We have already invested a considerable amount of time in these translations, and this discrepancy in the WPML editor is highly disruptive to our workflow.

Could you please investigate this matter urgently?

Hi,

I took a package of your site with the All In One Migration plugin. After that, I removed the plugin. The issue has been escalated to our second-tier supporters. We will keep you updated on any news regarding this issue.

Could you please tell us where to find the issue with the Dutch translation that you last mentioned?

Regards,
Itamar.

I was translating the about us page, but I noticed I already made these translations. On the website they exist, but WMPL says I haven't done them.

This is what translator noticed and asked us ( Cas )

Thank you,
Linda

Hi, Linda.

Regarding the Croatia page.
As you wrote, the translator Elise complained that she couldn't see this translation job in her queue. We have checked and found out that it was never assigned to her. As a result, she incorrectly translated the page by editing it in the front end, which led to problems. Please see the video I recorded regarding this case. It is a bit long (10 minutes), but I talk slowly so you can speed it up to X1.5 or X1.75 😉

As I show in the video, now the Coratia page is assigned to Elise.

Regarding the About Us page.
The translation into Dutch is assigned to Cas, the translator, but it is still in progress. Cas needs to complete it. Please watch this video.

In addition to the above, our second-tier support checked this page on a copy of your site. He wonders how you edited the translations. It seems that you also edited it from the front end. As we explained, this is incorrect and can lead to problems and discrepancies. He pointed out that, checking on the about us page, he sees this paragraph in the original English language:

The Job Squad is a diverse and international team, known for its proficiency in various languages, familiarity with different places, and understanding of diverse cultures.. Learn more about us and the squad by discovering all our members, their positions and a few facts about them. Read more about our company history here

When he checks the string translation for Dutch (NL) Language, he can see this value:

The Job Squad is een divers en internationaal team, bekend om zijn vaardigheid in verschillende talen, bekendheid met verschillende plaatsen en begrip van diverse culturen. Leer meer over ons en het team door al onze leden, hun posities en enkele feiten over hen.
<a href="">Lees hier meer over onze bedrijfsgeschiedenis</a>

However the page /nl/over-ons/ lists completely different value:

Job Squad is een gezellig, internationaal team! We spreken verschillende talen, kennen veel plekken en snappen hoe verschillend culturen kunnen zijn. Benieuwd wie wij zijn? Check hier al onze teamleden, ontdek wat ze doen en lees wat leuke feitjes over iedereen! Of lees meer over onze bedrijfsgeschiedenis

About the JSON error.
WPML does not cause it. Our second-tier supporter explains the following.

I checked the page in question (/no/kroatia/) on the backend and noticed something unusual.

There was a request being made to `/wp-admin/remote`, which was triggered by a Complianz iframe added to the admin footer. This request was then redirected to `/job/swedish-account-executive-legal-tech-r38/`.

This unexpected redirect likely interfered with the normal saving process, resulting in the JSON error you saw on the editing screen.

It appears this issue is not related to WPML, but rather caused by this unexpected request and redirect in your setup.

I hope this information helps you resolve the JSON issue.

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi Itamar,

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback and the videos.
I’ll pass all this information to our translators, but unfortunately most of them are on vacation this week, as soon as they're back, we’ll make sure everything is corrected following your instructions.

Thanks again for the support 🙏

Linda
