Background of the issue:
I'm trying to update the WPML plugins from older versions using the otgs-installer-plugin. The versions I'm updating are WPML Multilingual CMS from 3.9.1 to 4.7.4, String Translation from 2.7.1 to 3.3.3, and Translation Management from 2.5.0 to 2.10.8.
Symptoms:
I get an error all the time and cannot upgrade.
Questions:
Can I do it manually? Im sure that I can manage to do it via ftp or just point me another solution, thanks!
Please follow the steps I mentioned in the chat. You won't lose your translations, those are stored in your database. Just make sure you have a full backup of your database. Then, delete all WPML plugins and install only a fresh download of the core plugin. You don't need the OTGS installer plugin if you are installing manually. You can click the link to download the plugins manually at wpml.org/account/downloads.
Did you deactivate and delete ALL WPML plugins before starting the new uploads? Translation Management plugin is now built into the core plugin and it can be removed. Where are you seeing the message that it needs to be updated?
ok I see, can't recall now if I did deactivate plugins, theres a chance I didn't. I can see the massage in the plugins section in WP dashboard but they seem to be inactive now. I'll just delete them and let you know if the plugin is fully functioning, thanks!
Did you delete and deactivate ALL WPML plugins? If so, please send me credentials in the private fields of the next reply so that I can login and take a look at the active plugins. It's possible that the error message is a false postiive, in which case, we may need to check the database settings for WPML. Let me know if it is okay to install the Adminer plugin to check those settings.
