It is you who provides the translations (WPML won’t translate your content automatically). WPML supports translations for posts, pages, catogories, tags, menus, widgts, different strings, CPTs, taxonomies etc. Basically all WordPress elements.

Please read it carefully, especially “Batch-Duplicating Using the Translation Dashboard” section. You will learn how you can use WPML features to when you want to duplicate a large amount of content.
I’m sure that being familiar with different WPML possibilities will let you take your final decision.

WPML work differently than Google translate. WPML doesn’t translate your texts automatically. It provides an interface which let you easily put your own translations. The main purpose of having a multilingual site is to attract more customers. To do so you must help search engines to easily index your site. You want achieve this with automated translations. I cannot show you any site made for Persian with WPML but you can see some examples with sites done with WPML here, including site translated to German. http://wpml.org/showcase/
Ok, but the problem is I can’t speak persian! And I don’t have the time to write every text in english. Do you provide there any service or good translation tools, with whom I can translate the texts?

WPML is fully integrated with ICanLocalize service. It means that This service is a part of our company. It fully integrates with WPML and lets you select translators, send content for them to translate and receive completed translations, directly in your WordPress admin.
ICanLocalize is an add-on translation service, which is easily integrated with WPML. You can send content to translation in ICanLocalize, but you will need to create an account there and pay for the translations. Translation to most languages costs around 0.09 USD per word.
Of course, this is only an option for you. You can also choose to translate yourself and there is no cost for this.

Hi James. All default WooCommerce gateways are WPML compatible. We use Paypal and 2checkouts for our sites (wpml.org and wt-types.com) and they work fine. 2checkout is usually used for purchases using credit card.

Does you claim mean that for this client we can buy once and use it in both sites? If not, pls elaborate on what your statement means.

When he does this the dashboard turns blank and I had to delete the plugin through FTP to solve this problem. I found out that it is a WPML site. I’m running a website, which is build as multisite network. Is it possible with wpml, that If a user choose a language on one site this language is used in all the different sites. Means wpml remeber the choice in the all network. Or does the user need to choose again if he goes from one site to another?
WPML also allows you to choose the admin language. So this way your will always see the WordPress dashboard in a given language. I’m not sure it this was your question.

We’ve a main site (homepage main company) and we have some subsites (branches).
From the main Company site we’re linking to the branch sites. The sites are running in a multisite network. All sites should be available in DE, EN and FR. Default language is DE
Now the questions: I f a user chose for example FR as language on the main company site. Trough a link, he get directed to one of the branches site. Does the user need to choose the language FR again on the branch site or is it possible to take over the setting from the main site. So that the user have on all sites in the network FR as language
I don’t want that the user need to choose again.
I hope you understand what I mean.

Do you plan to do something similar (but without domain mapping?) If so, how the visitor will switch between suddomains?
I’m currently looking for a tool that I can self-host on a local server site that will help me manage translations for my organization, using multiple users as translators. For example, I want to be able to publish content in English, and assign translators in French and Spanish to be able to read my text and then do a side-by-side translation, and mark it as complete. When they are finished, I’d like to be able to extract the text and use it in, say a press release or in other marketing material. Is this possible using the WPML tools? Thanks for your time.

WPML turns your WordPress site into a multilingual one and provides you an interface to easy manage your translations. The goal of creating multilingual sites it to attract more customer. To achive this, your site should index well in search engine like Google. Automatic translations are not welcome by search engines.

Estonian already exist on this default language list but as you can see using the approach mentioned above you can manages all languages with WPML.

To answer your question I need more information from. First let me make sure if I understand your case correctly:
1. so you have different sites run using one WordPress (WordPress Multilingual mode), right?
2. now you want each site to be available in different languages, right?
3. …and to make it multilingual you plan to use WPML, right?
If so, you have different possibilities to do so:
1. Using a domain mapping plugin

Stefan, who do you call a user? A site visitor or a person who works with the sites from within the WordPress admin?

Hi Bao, what do you mean by metadata? Do you want to translate the fields needed for SEO, like page title, description and so on? If so, WPML works well with the SEO by Youast plugin and allows you to translate all the metadata.
