Getting started with Okodia and WPML

To send content for translation to Okodia, install the following plugins on your website:

  • WPML Multilingual CMS – the core plugin
  • WPML String Translation – this plugin will allow you to translate interface strings

You can download them from your wpml.org account. If you do not have an account yet, you can create a new one by choosing WPML Multilingual CMS or Multilingual Agency plans.

Working with Okodia via WPML

Here are the basic steps of working with WPML and Okodia. For a full walkthrough, check out our page about using WPML with a translation service.

Connecting Your Website to Okodia

First, you need to connect WPML with Okodia. Part of this very simple process is to request your Okodia API token.

In order to get the required token to authenticate Okodia, just fill up the form at Okodia’s site.

Sending content for translation

Once your site is connected to Okodia, you can start sending your content for translation.

Receive a quotation from Okodia

Once the connection is ready, you only need to select the content that you want to translate from the WPML Translation panel and the dedicated Okodia team will automatically receive your translation request. You can select to translate your website into more than 40 languages. Additionally, you can add your own flavors, such as Canadian French or Mexican Spanish by using the WPML languages editor.

Receiving completed translations

When translations are done, they will appear on your site, ready to publish. Okodia will also write an email to you saying that the translations are ready, so that you receive notification from our side directly.

Once done, your site is ready to receive completed translations

Canceling translation jobs

You only need to contact Okodia and request to cancel the jobs.

Translating the Rest of Your Site

Once you’re done translating the content of your page, there could be untranslated texts in menus, sidebars, and similar places. No problem, you can use Okodia to translate the rest of your site.
