This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues with ajax errors when adding choices to a custom field created with ACF, and you're using WP All Import and WP All Import - ACF Add-On, the problem might be due to compatibility issues among these plugins.
Solution:
We recommend updating both the WP All Import PRO plugin and the WP All Import - ACF Add-on to their latest versions. This update has resolved similar issues for other clients and might fix the ajax error you are encountering.

If updating does not resolve the issue, please contact our support team for further assistance. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to add choices to a custom field created with ACF. However, when "Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual" is active, the changes to ACF Field Groups are not saved.

Symptoms:
The choices I add are not being persisted unless I deactivate the "Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual" plug-in.

Questions:
Why are the changes to ACF Field Groups not being saved when Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual is active?
How can I ensure that the choices I add to a custom field are persisted with Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual active?

FYI, your upload widget in the initial form is broken. It always ends with an ajax error.
I cannot upload a video here though unfortunately.

Hello,

When using ACFML the Field Groups should be set to "Not translatable" inside WPML > Settings > Post Type Translation.

There should not exist any duplicated field groups.

ACFML mainly serves for translating fields with the WPML Translation Editor which will allow you to translate the Choices when translating them for the first time.

After that you will be able to translate the choices with WPML > String Translation.

Guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/translating-acf-field-labels-with-wpml/

Please let me know if any further assistance is needed.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I just verified the settings:

Field Groups are set to "Not translatable". Above the fields in the Group itself, the selected option is "Same fields across languages".

There are no duplicated field groups.

Also, my concern wasn't about translating choices. The problem is that with the ACFML plug-in enabled, any changes to the choices are not persisted to the database.

At the moment I can not view the field group "Détails Formations" as a user is editing it.

Please make sure to set the translation preference for each field group, as seen on the screenshot. If you have any question about the options, please let me know.

Do I understand right that issue occurs when trying to edit a ACF Field Group?

Hmm… I don't see anyone editing it…
Which screenshot are you referring to again?

Yes, the issue is about editing a group. See here: hidden link

Shall I try to overtake the editing?

I am sadly not catching any JS or PHP error, but I can confirm that this seems to be an issue between ACF PRO, WPML, WP All Import and WP All Import - ACF Add-On.

Disabling WP All Import - ACF Add-On likely solves the issue.

Could you please update WP All Import and the WP All Import - ACF Add-on to the latest available versions and verify if this solves the issue?

I'll do that. Just out of curiosity, did you by any chance switch themes? We noticed that custom css got lost and wondered how. This may explain it.

Yes, my apologies, I needed to switch to rule out that the theme was causing the issue.

I did this as the debug.log is showing errors coming from the theme.

Not a problem, that's what we have backups for.

Very good!

Please update the WP All Import PRO plugin and the WP All Import - ACF Add-on and let me know in case this will not solve the issue.

I can confirm that the issue is gone with the latest version of WPAI Pro and the ACF add-on from WPAI.
I was not aware there were updates available, not sure why they aren't/weren't shown.
