Hi folks, could you please enable DeepL for Korean automatic translations? DeepL added Korean support a little over five months ago, in January 2023: But WPML's list of "Supported Languages for Automatic Translation with WPML" indicates that Korean is still not an option: Could you please enable DeepL for Korean translations, for higher quality translations? Thank you, |

Hi Joe. I will get in touch with my colleagues from the translation services department and let them know about your request. I will get back to you as soon as I have any update. I'm leaving the ticket assigned to myself. Thank you for your patience throughout the debugging process. Mihai |

You are welcome! I just wanted to get back to you to let you know that our team enabled that but they are still working on some issues they experience with it so I recommend that you wait until I get back to you with new updates. I'm leaving the ticket assigned to myself. Mihai |

Thank you, Mihai. It's wonderful to hear that the team is working on this, even if it's not a trouble-free launch yet. |

Yes, it is wonderful but I would have loved to be able to deliver this faster. However, it seems that the issues our team experienced need a good amount of work so that's why this is still taking a good amount of time. I'm leaving the ticket assigned to myself and I will update you as soon as I have updates. Mihai |

I'm back 🙂 My team informed me that you can now safely translate into Korean using DeepL. Good luck with the site and have a lovely rest of the day! Mihai |

Thank you, Mihai! Is there a way that we can enable DeepL for Korean? We already had DeepL enabled for "Which translation engines do you want to use?" but this applies to all languages on our site, not just Korean. A Korean colleague noted that the Korean translations seemed to be using a non-DeepL translation engine, whether Microsoft's or Google's translation services, so is there a way to explicitly set Korean automatic translations to use DeepL as well now? |

Hi. There is not specific setting. Can you please go to WPML > Translation Management > Tools > and under the tab "Mapping", can you send me a screenshot of what you see there? Also, you can find out the translation engine being used by hovering over "Credits needed" (attaching screenshot). PS: You might also want to take a look at the documentation we have available here: Thank you. Mihai |

Thank you, Mihai. Within the language mappings, I see that DeepL is one of the services that are enabled for Korean, and we have DeepL already set as our first choice of translation engine when it's available. It helps to know that we can check the engine in use if we use the ATE and then create the automatic translations from there, rather than trying to send jobs directly our for automatic translation without the ATE. (Although I wish that there was some sort of confirmation of which engine is being used when we send translation jobs for automatic translation without using the ATE interface.) Thank you for your help. |
