This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is using WPML and is facing issues with making the footer different for each language, having separate pages or links for the second language, and using WPBakery Page Builder with WPML. The client also prefers to translate most content manually, using only the language switcher.
Solution:
If you're experiencing similar issues, we recommend the following steps:
1. For manual translation, you can follow the instructions provided here.
2. To duplicate a page for translation, go to WPML > Translation Management, select the page, check the box next to it, and at the bottom, choose "Duplicate" for the language you want to duplicate the page into. Then, click the "Duplicate" button. After duplicating, select the other language from the top black bar, go to "Pages," find the duplicated page, hover your mouse over it, and click "Edit" with WPBakery. This allows you to edit the page with WPBakery and change the content as desired.
3. For the footer translation, it depends on how it was created. If needed, we can create a separate ticket to address this specific issue.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If these steps do not resolve your issue, please open a new support ticket.
