Background of the issue:
I am trying to manually edit translations for my website content using WPML. Specifically, I want to make changes to translated text directly (e.g., page content, buttons, or metadata) without relying solely on the Advanced Translation Editor.

Symptoms:
Some translations appear locked or uneditable, and in some cases, the translation editor shows a blank screen, preventing any progress.

Questions:
How can I enable manual editing for translations that appear locked or uneditable?
What should I do when the translation editor shows a blank screen?

As you can see from the uploads, when i click on the words on the right(the german ones) the site just turns white, and there are 2 errors in the console(dont know if they are related to the problem) but its not working to edit.

I've checked your screenshots and I can see the issue you had there. The advanced translation editor page should not display white when you try to translate the content. Could you copy and paste the URL here so that I can check the translation ID on our end?

Also, editing the contents manually can only be done if you turn off the "advanced Translation editor" as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

I didn't see any issues when I checked your translations. Refer to this screen recording hidden link .

Probably some 3rd party plugin conflicting with WPML and I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
