[Resolved] Products not same order and some are not translated
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to ensure that products on your site are correctly paired and displayed in the same order across different language versions. The products are set to 'Translatable' to work with FacetWP, but they are not in the same order and some are not translated correctly across the English and German versions. Solution: To publish and later update the translation, follow these steps: 1. Visit your pages tab; 2. Switch the language in the top bar to German. This way, you'll see all the available pages in that language; 3. Hover your mouse over the translation and click on "Quick Edit"; 4. Change the status to published; 5. (Optional) switch the language back to the default in the top bar.
Now you can update the original and make the necessary changes in the German translation. If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to ensure that the products on my site hidden link are correctly paired and displayed in the same order across different language versions. The products are set to 'Translatable' to work with FacetWP, and there should be no content differences between the English and German versions, except for some buttons, footer, and menu text.
Symptoms:
The products are not in the same order and some are not translated correctly. For example, hidden link is incorrectly paired with hidden link. Additionally, the product order and images differ between hidden link and its German version hidden link.
Questions:
How can I get the products synced correctly across different language versions?
Where can I find the relevant settings in WPML to fix this issue?
i have added the increase in wp-config. But I'm trying to overwrite content as you posted and I get the spinning icon forever. Don't know it is realted to JS error seen in screencast gif: hidden link
If i wait a good while and hit "update" it does not seem to have updated anything (still old post content) but doing it a copule of times seems to make it work - but i have no indication of when it has completed the overwriting.
1. In the steps I shared, there's no instruction to click on "Translate independently"; This option is not needed here.
2. In the video you sent, the option of being a synched duplicate already seems to be activated. That means that, the way things are, the translation should always be an exact copy of the original that gets updated automatically;
It's still not clear to me, what's not working as expected. Please answer these questions as objectively as possible:
1. You want to have your German CPT products as exact copies of the original. Is that correct?
2. Are your current-published translations exact copies of the original?
I'm trying to understand only this part first. Let's leave the issue with the order to later. I'm waiting your feedback.
1. I have to click the "Translate independently" else I can't access the "Overwrite..." etc. options.
1. yes ,the German have the same content - only difference is the buttons that are being translated (standard WordPress translations) and of course the footer / header that are German related.
Ok, so regarding the "Translate independently" button. This button only shows, when the translation is a duplicate of the original. So, if you see this button, there's no need to follow the steps because the translation is already set up the way it should.
________
Alright, so your translations are copies of the original and seem to be working. Now, what's the issue? Please explain what is your desired behavior and what is happening instead.
Ok that is how I want it. But I guess the issue is, when duplicating a product (Yoast Duplicate Post - https://wpml.org/plugin/yoast-duplicate-post/) it duplicates the copy the translation (German) and sets it to Draft. I update the English product and publish. The German is left in Draft mode and with the old content.
To publish and later update the translation, you can follow these steps:
1. Visit your pages tab;
2. Switch the language in the top bar to German. This way, you'll see all the available pages in that language;
3. Hover your mouse over the translation and click on "Quick Edit";
4. Change the status to published;
5. (Optional) switch the language back to the default in the top bar;
Now you can update the original and make the necessary changes in the German translation. Let me know if this works for you.
Ok - so it is working with updating the English product after having published the german one. But featured image are not set - is there a setting for that?
You can see the here: hidden link

weird thing is, that it seems to be set in the backend where they both have the exact same. Any ideas?
