my website have 3 languages, and run custom post order to push the last modified post to the top, the problem is that when i modified the default language post, the last modified date is not sync to other languages, so different languages end up have different order, is there a way to do so?

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will try my best to assist you in this matter.

From the WPML debug info, I can see that the Post date sync status is set to true on your site. Therefore, the publish date should be copied to the translated page/post. After modifying the post, did you have checked by updating the translation as well?

If the issue persists even after updating the translation, please let me know the steps to see the issue. I will check properly and let you know what to do next.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

new post publish or publish status are synced alright, what i am trying to do is modify the default language data, the last modified date is not synced after i press update.

if i go the translation editor of other languages and click save and close, of course the translation post is updated as well, however i don't want to spend time to update each language.

Hi There,

Please be informed that in order to sync everything across the other languages, it is required to update the translation right after saving any changes in the default post/page. The configuration to copy the post metadata to other languages will only take effect once the translation is updated. I hope you can understand the workflow.

If you'd prefer not to handle this manually, you can consider using the WPML's "Automatic translation" feature. When changes are made to the default post or page, this feature will auto-update the translations and also replicate the meta information to the translated post.

More information about Automatic Translation is available here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/

Please let me know if the above information is helpful or if you need any further assistance. I will be happy to help.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

other info are already sync (copy), for example a custom field "price" are copied across all languages, when i update the price on default language, rest of the languages will be update.

however what i am asking is that - even the data other languages are updated (auto copied), the last modified date is not, can wpml sync the "last modified date" as well?

Hello There,

I totally can understand your point but it's important to note that the logic for copying custom field data and metadata such as date and time is different. The post meta information only gets changed after saving a post.

Hence, it's essential to update the translation to ensure the "last modified" date from the default post is mirrored in the translated post. If you'd like the metadata to be duplicated similarly to the custom field, that would require additional development and would be considered a new feature. I'll discuss this with the product team and see what they think about it.

I hope you can understand the matter. If there is anything else if you need help, please let me know.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit
