This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
I am trying to change the language names displayed in the language switcher, like showing USA instead of English.

Solution:
You can achieve this by editing the values of the "Translation" column in WPML > Languages > Edit Languages (Please check the attached screenshot).

Kindly note that those changes will be applied to all the language switchers on your site.

I already created like English (Canada), and English (United Kingdom). All the languages have content, what if I change now then will there be a 404 error?

please have a look at my website hidden link

Hi,

Those fields are used to create the translation of language names in other languages. This doesn't affect the site's URLs, so it shouldn't cause any 404 errors. Please check here for more details: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/editing-wpmls-languages-table/#language-configuration-fields-defined

But you can always create a full backup before making any changes to the site, so you can revert the changes you made if needed.
