This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues where non-existent translations still appear in the WPML String Translations list under Yoast SEO, this might be due to these strings not being deleted from the database.
Solution:
We recommend checking the WPML-> String Translations-> Admin Texts screen to see if the strings are still present there. If they are, it indicates that Yoast SEO has not removed these strings from the database, and they will continue to appear in the list. This behavior is expected if the strings are still listed in your _options table, as WPML displays all strings that are present in this table.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I'm trying to edit the translations as described in this ticket: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/yoast-seo-special-pages/page/2/. However, I see translations in the list here: hidden link that don't exist anymore.

Symptoms:
I expected to see only the translations which are active in YOAST, but instead, I got translations that don't exist anymore.

Questions:
Why are translations that don't exist anymore still showing in the list?
How can I remove these non-existent translations from the list?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. Before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

If Yoast didn't delete these strings from the database, they are expected to be in the WPML-> String Translations-> Admin Texts screen.

Best regards,
Osama

Dear,

There are not active anymore in the front UI. So do you show the correct things or does YOAST not hide the necessary things?

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

If it's part of your _options table, WPML will display it, since it's listed in the table. This is not an issue with WPML.

Best regards,
Marcel
