This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You want to translate WooCommerce strings differently based on the product category in Latvian, considering gender-specific language requirements.
Solution:
Currently, WPML does not support automatic conditional translations based on product categories. We recommend using the WPML String Translation module to manually translate or retranslate the strings to ensure they match the gender context of the product category. For detailed guidance on using this module, please visit WPML String Translation documentation.

Background of the issue:
I want to translate some WooCommerce strings differently based on the product category. One category is 'books' (feminine in Latvian) and another category 'treatises' (masculine in Latvian).

Symptoms:
In Latvian, the translation includes the gender and it looks unprofessional to have it mixed up.

Questions:
Is it possible to translate strings (latest first, most popular first etc.) depending on the product category?
Can you provide any documentation on how to achieve this?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Unfortunately, WPML does not have such a feature. However, you can use WPML → String Translation to translate or retranslate the strings, ensuring the translation is not mixed.
