With the site of Super Seat we use the following urls for multi language: hidden link for Dutch hidden link for German
This is set up according the WPML docs (and some support tickets). But when a visitor goes to hidden link it got redirected to hidden link and not hidden link.
I am not sure if this is caused or affected by WPML, probably your hosting/redirect rules. I have checked the www URL and can see there is a redirect set, the image attached.
In order to confirm if this is caused by WPML, I suggest disabling WPML plugins and checking if the issue still happens.
I cannot simply deactivate WPML with this site. So that isn't possible at the moment. I'll try contacting my hosting. Maybe they know a solution for this.
as best, you clone your site to a staging environment and route the real domains to the IP of your test server via our hosts.ini file. This way, you can simulate the same environment using real domains without affecting the traffic from real visitors, as it will only route to that server on your local system.
Based on the redirect route my colleague posted, it's handled from WP itself and not caused by WPML.
so long you can simulate the exact domains, any test environment should be fine. You can find the host file depending on your operating system as described here: hidden link.
Best Regards
Marcel
