This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to add new translations to the header, footer, and contact form using WPML > Translations, but the page does not stop loading, and you encounter error messages stating 'Something went wrong, please try again' and 'Unable to retrieve job details'.
Solution:
We recommend canceling the problematic translation job in WPML under Translation Management → Translation Jobs. After canceling, resend the job from the Translation Management. Once done, you should be able to access and complete the translation from WPML → Translations.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I'm trying to add new translations on the header, footer, and also on the contact form using WPML > Translations. When I attempt to translate something, the page opens but doesn't stop loading. I'll attach a screenshot of this.

Symptoms:
I got a blank page that doesn't stop loading with two error messages: 'Something went wrong, please try again. Please contact user support if the issue persists' and 'Unable to retrieve job details'.

Questions:
Why does the page not stop loading when I try to add new translations?
What do the error messages 'Something went wrong, please try again' and 'Unable to retrieve job details' mean?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

Could you please test it again to see if it works for you? It should have been fixed already.

Hello Andrey,

The problem isn't fixed. I already updated the plugin and the PHP settings are okay with what WPML suggests as you can see on the screenshot attached.

Thank you for your feedback.

Please try these steps:

1. Update the original page and save it.

2. Navigate to the WPML translation editor.

If this is still the issue, I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible—in order to be of better help. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the needed fields below the comment area. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

Thank you for the update.

I have canceled the translation job for the footer template in WPML under Translation Management → Translation Jobs and resent it from the Translation Management. It is now accessible from WPML → Translations. I have completed one translation.
