Thank you for contacting WPML support. I'll be happy to help you with this. How are you adding the link to the page in the original language? Are you using a page builder, and if so, which one and which type of element are you adding?

Also, is this product translated? Beacuse when I try to use the language swticher, it directs me to the homepage hidden link and when I try to manually change the URL, it directs me to the English product hidden link

If you are adding the link into the body content of the post and using the WordPress editor to select the product to link to, as long as the product is translated, the link should update. If not, you can go to WPML -> Settings -> Translate Link Targets and see if that updates it (this will only work if the translation exists).

However, if you are adding the link in a page builder element, it's possible that you need to manually translate the link. If you are using the advanced translation editor, this documentation will walk you through how to translate the link:

1. check the hebrew version of the article
hidden link

the wording: נגינה

still points to the english link and not the translated link

i am using manual-automatic translation through translation management

If you added the link into the page by highlighting the content and selecting the product, then Translate Link Targets may resolve it, as I mentioned in my previous reply. However, you still have not answered some of the questions I will need to determine the best way to translate the link:
1. How are you adding the link to the page in the original language?
2. Are you using a page builder, and if so, which one and which type of element are you adding?
3. Is this product translated?

You said you are using manual automatic translation, but manual and automatic are two different things. Do you mean you are manually editing the translation after it has been automatically translated? if so, did you try searching for https in the translation editor, and translate the link?

1. via add post, i am double clicking the anchor text, and adding a link to it that i copy paste from the url in another tab

2. using the basic wordpress editor

3. yes this product is translated to hebrew of course, hebrew is the main site language

4. when i say manual-automatic, that means i do not allow automatic translation to everything, i have to add it to basket and only then allow automatic translation to what i have selected

When you are adding the link to the highlighted content, instead of copying and pasting a URL, try selecting the post there. Then update the page and udpate the translation, and see if that resolves it.

If not, manually edit the post translation by going to the post and clicking the pencil icon next to the second language. This should open the post in the translation editor, and you can search at the top for http and that should show you all the links available to translate.

Please let me know the results.

i am creating an internal link to a product, not to do another post, so your solution is different.

as for editing manually every blog post - this is not a solution for me

would the button i mentioned in settings resolve this issue?

- Translate Link Targets
Adjust links in posts and strings so they point to the translated content

You said "i am creating an internal link to a product, not to do another post, so your solution is different." - but you should be able to highlight the text and select a product, just the same as you would a post. Please add the link that way and then run the Translate Link Targets and let me know if it resolves the issue.

sorry but that is not posible, i am not going to edit 50 blog posts now

1. you need to report this bug to 2nd tier - so its resolved in future versions
2. you still didn't tell me firmly, if clicking Translate Link Targets will resolve my current issue, if you don't know consult 2nd tier support and tell me what they say

I'm asking you to test on one page, not to edit 50 blog posts. And it's not a bug based on how the link can be inserted differently. Please test on one page and if it is not working as expected with the steps I asked you to test, then I will gladly escalate.

For further clarification, and to consider how this would not be a bug, when you highlight text and copy and paste a URL, that URL can be any URL, even ones outside your site. So let's say for instance you highlighted text and inserted the URL hidden link - WPML would not know what is supposed to be the translation of a URL.

Another option you can try is to use the Sticky Links plugin add on (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/sticky-links/) and this could possibly resolve it without needing to change the post, but please try the original solution on ONE page to see what happens, because if that does not work then it would be considered a bug.

I look forward to your results.

i do not agree with either your solutions

i want an answer which you fail and fail and fail to answer me

if clicking Translate Link Targets will resolve my current issue

if i put an internal link in a post, when translating, wpml should have known this link has another language automatically and replace it

As I stated in my previous response, please run the test so that we can see if Translate Link Targets resolve the issue. I must have you test that before I can escalate this.

If you prefer, I can set up a staging site and we can run the test there. Just let me know if you want me to set that up for you, and I can send you the link to login to the test site and reproduce the issue there.
