The translated content stops displaying, and it's unclear how to restore it. Any solutions?

Hello,

Can you please elaborate on how the page that is no longer showing the translated content was translated? Did you use the Advanced Translation Editor, the Classic Translation Editor or the WP editor? Did you mix editors when editing the translation? I mean, translated with one, then edit the translation with another?

Please provide me a link to the page where I can see the problem.

Best Regards,
Otto

Otto, hello again!

We've already deleted these pages, but it appears the issue was related to standard WordPress editing. That is, when editing the translated content (including overcoming the WPML warning), the Divi-generated content on the page would disappear.

There may be other reasons.

Hello,

Yes, it may be the case. Mixing editors is not recommended, it may lead to lost content.

I suggest you to pick one and stick with it. If something fails, sometimes is tempting to change to the WP editor, that this leads to problems later.

If you have any problem, don't use the workaround and report it. We will try to solve it without changing editors.

Best Regards,
Otto

Is it possible to physically remove the "Edit Translation" button from the top menu in WordPress so that you can focus only on the Divi editor?

Hello,

Yes it's possible, you can do it this way:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

It won't remove the edit translation link, but if you selected the WP editor for a page or post type, clicking the link will take you to the WP editor.

The problem is that once you switched to the WP editor, you should not edit the page with the WPML editor (content will be lost). And then, you don't have access to automatic translation.

Translating automatically and switching for the first time is OK. But then you should not change again to WPML editor.

Best Regards,
Otto

Unfortunately, that's not what I need. I meant using Divi Builder instead of the WPML editor. It's fine as long as you don't use the WPML editor afterwards (since it will overwrite all the translations), right?

Hello again,

If you'd like to use your site builder to translate your content instead of WPML editor, we call this Manual Translation.

And here is how to do it with Divi or any other editor : hidden link

And you are right, the moment you switch to Divi, you can no longer use WPML editor on that page.

This could also be a permanent solution to your links issue from your other ticket.

In this video, you showed how to use the built-in WordPress editor (not Divi Builder). We don't use it.

So, in this message, you gave advice that we NEVER use! This means we're both wasting our time.

Please carefully review my response here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-divi-buttons-arent-translating (if possible, pass it on to your development team).

If the WPML plugin can't provide a seamless solution, then customer support will always pester customers with silly advice that they won't be able to fully implement to resolve their WPML issues.

Most likely, MANY of your customers get tired of the fruitless correspondence, find their own solution, and simply stop contacting you, leaving you to assume you've helped them solve their problem. This can be changed.

As I explained in the video, it is the same process for all builders. I did not have Divi installation on me, hence it wasn't used in the exemple.

The initial steps are the same, you select WordPress Editor in the languages section > Duplicate > Edit the duplicated translation with Divi

Wordpress Editor encapsulates all other editors in this case, then you can freely edit the page with any builder (Divi in your case)

Ilyes, I already told you you're wrong. Why do you keep giving such erroneous advice?

You claim:

"This process is the same for all builders."

But at this key point, YOU'RE WRONG!

For example, when using Divi, the standard WordPress interface will look different, and none of the features you talked about in the video will be available (see the screenshot I attached).

And when you're wrong at the entry point, you're wrong everywhere else! And your subsequent advice becomes useless.

That's why I wrote that you think your clients are idiots when you give them idiotic advice. But so far, I see that you're the idiots, since you don't understand the process at all (you haven't even installed Divi Builder, yet you're telling me what to do).

Do you have someone who can truly understand and figure it out? So that your work will be easier later.

I don't NEED your help. On the contrary, I'm helping you now.

By the way, I can freely edit any translated page using Divi Builder (without the changes you mentioned in the video). So you're WRONG here too!

Install editors that work with WPML and personally go through the entire customer journey first, and only then advise your clients (and your developers, for that matter).

Otherwise, you look really STUPID!
