This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to translate strings using WPML but encounter the 'Waiting for Translator' status instead of seeing the translations.
Solution:
1. Navigate to WPML → Translations to manually take and translate the strings, or cancel the string translation jobs from WPML → Translation Management → Jobs tab.
2. Ensure a translator is available by checking WPML → Translation Management → Translators and verifying the correct Translation Pair. For more details on setting up translators, visit Translating Strings Automatically on a Site with Multiple Translators.
3. Update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, currently 4.7.2, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements. Instructions for updating can be found at WPML Installation FAQ.

If this solution does not apply because it might be outdated or not relevant to your specific case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. The "Waiting for Translator" status typically appears when strings are selected and sent for translation in bulk.

To address this, you can go to WPML → Translations to take and translate the strings, or you can cancel the string translation jobs (identified by "string") from the WPML → Translation Management → Jobs" tab.

Before doing so, ensure that a translator is available by navigating to WPML → Translation Management → Translators and verifying the correct Translation Pair.

I went to "To address this, you can go to WPML → Translations to take and translate the strings," and worked through the translation process. It does not change the status of the string even though they are 100% complete.

Also, many of the strings that are waiting do not appear in this section.

Could you please upload some screenshots? I would like to see what you're referring to.

Please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.7.2, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements. This may not necessarily resolve your problem; however, we need to work on the newest code available to troubleshoot the issue best.

You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions to update can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

If you do not see the updates, you might need to click the Check for updates button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab.

Please remember to backup your database before you proceed.
