I recommend trying to translate one page at a time and running this as a test to see which translation engines translate more to your liking. After you decide which one you want to use, you can go with translating in bulk. About the credits—once the 30,000 credits run out, WPML will stop translating. No automatic charges will be applied, and no extra translations will happen until more credits are added. This means there’s no risk of unexpected costs, and you’ll always have full control over when and how translations continue. If a project is large, keeping an eye on the credit balance or estimating ahead of time using hidden link" rel="noopener" target="_blank">WPML’s word count tool can help avoid interruptions. Again, If you're unsure which engine would be the best fit, one option is to test a small batch of translations using each and see which one gives the best results for your specific content. Hi there. Yes, if you already have credits, I recommend using those first. I recommend that you go with a pay-as-you-go subscription only after you run out of credits, which will give you the credits for the cheapest cost. |

i just calculated i need 796000 credits for 18000 words into 22 languages, wil payg charge less than prepaid credits ot the same ? i also have to decide whether to use deepL or microsoft ? what do you think ? |

Hi there, and welcome back. Thank you for the info. The big factor here is the number of languages you must translate the content into. That's why you will need so many credits. To answer your questions: 1. Yes, pay-as-you-go will be cheaper than buying prepaid credits. 2. It is hard to recommend a specific translation engine; this is more down to preference, as I've met customers who said that DeepL, for example, works best for their language combination. DeepL is probably one of the best options on the list, considering you have many languages to translate. Hi there. Prepaid credits can't be used with pay-as-you-go. Please take a look here: So yes, I would assign the credits first and use them first. Regarding using Azure, that would definitely be cheaper and more appropriate if you don't have specific quality expectations regarding the translation. If you want a top-quality translation, that will cost more. That's why I recommended running tests in small batches with different translation engines to see which result makes you happier. |
