Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the translation editor so that all entered translations remain in memory and do not disappear on their own. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
10 percent of translations disappear even though the original language has not been modified.

Questions:
Why are 10 percent of translations disappearing?
How can I ensure that all entered translations remain in memory?

Hello,

My client has re-filled all traduction content that has disappeared from the ATE for this page :hidden link
(8% of total translation string missing).

The page was 100% translated and everything was displaying right on frontend.

Then he has added some content to the original page (french) and opened the arabic translation to update it. And then, one again, he lost 8% of total translations (previously filled).

What I don't understand is that some strings are well recorded in the string translation settings, but these strings are part of the missing ones (and those which automatically disappear after each original content change).

Here is another string with the same problem.
I have notice it is recorded several times with different IDs.
Could the problem be related to this ID ?

Same problem on this string but there is only one version of the string (no different ID), and no <wpml_linebreak> marker on the original content. So the answer must be elsewhere...

Hi Romain,

Thank you for contacting WPML support, I’m happy to help you with this issue.

We’ve received many tickets from our users recently so I’m sorry about the late reply. From now on, I assure you that your ticket will be replied to regularly. Thanks for your patience.

Regarding the issue with some translated content missing from the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE), there was an issue with the linebreak tag in ATE and it has been fixed recently. I suggest you edit the page > add a new paragraph to the content > save > send the content to translation from WPML > Translation Management board and see how it goes.

If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site so I can take a better look at the issue. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.

❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hello

Too many problems with this page.
We will translate it using WordPress/Divi editor.

However, I have checked arabic translation of other pages recently, with ATE and some translations were again missing, while they were well translated before... Why ?

It's getting really hard to use your plugin...

Hi,

I've checked the issue on our server and seen that on my end. Some sentences are translated before but they do not appear when you open ATE again. I'm discussing this issue with our 2nd tier support and update you here when I have something to share.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi Long,

We have used credits to translate the arabic version but these translations were all proofread by an arabic user. We cannot autotranslate again.

That's the main problem of this bug occurring too often : each time a string disappears from the ATE, I have to open the page in question to copy the translation and paste it again in the ATE.
It's extremely time consuming, all the more that I can't read arabic.

If you can refund credits, that would be appreciable for me to be able to transfer them to other sites, if possible, so that it can compensate for the time I spent fixing these issues.

And most important, I really need you to ensure that no strings will disappear any more from this website. Can you tell me when it will be fixed ?

I'm really pleased that you were able to put your finger on what was causing the problem, but I would have liked it to happen sooner with previous supporters, because this isn't the first time I've reported the problem.

Thank you

Hi,

I understand your situation when an Arabic user proofreads the translations and you need to copy the translation on your site to ATE. Please let me know all pages where the issue happens, I will doublecheck those and ask our development team to restore the (recent) translation memory on those pages and you can see the proofreads of the translations when opening ATE.

Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks

Hello,
I would have liked to transfer these credits to wpml.org but I get the message "unable to withdraw credits on wpml.org, please contact technical support".

Hi,

We limit one issue per ticket only so I will split your new issue with transfer credits into a new ticket for better handling.

Thanks.
