This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're experiencing issues where ACF Field Groups are set to 'untranslatable' in WPML -> Settings -> Post Type Translation, but they still appear in the Translation Management post type dropdown filter, this might be confusing.
Solution:
We would like to clarify that setting the ACF Field Group to 'Not Translatable' in WPML settings means that the entire field group itself cannot be translated using WPML. However, the field labels and placeholders within these groups remain active and translatable. These elements appear in the dropdown to allow you to send field labels and titles for translation through the Translation Management or String Translation, but not the entire field group itself. If you set the field group to 'Translatable', then you can send the entire field group, including all related information and settings, for translation.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please feel free to open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand your concern. Please note that the "ACF Field Group" post type in the dropdown belongs to the ACF plugin itself. When you set the translation preference for the ACF Field Group as 'Not Translatable' in WPML > Settings, you are indicating that the entire field group cannot be translated using WPML.

However, the Field Group post type remains active even when the field group is set to "Not Translatable." Within this post type, you'll see field labels and placeholders that you can send for translation from Translation Management, which you can also generally translate via String Translation.

If you set the translation preference for the field group post type to "Translatable," you'll have the option to send the entire field group for translation, including all the related information and settings.

So, by setting the Field Group preference to "Not Translatable," you are preventing the field group itself from being translated. However, you will still see the ACF Field Group in the dropdown to be able to see the field labels and titles within the field group and send them for translation, not the entire field group.

I hope you can understand. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance or clarification. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Hi There,
Thank you for the update.

The translation settings for the ACF fields are not the main reason. The field labels within the field group are globally set to "Translatable." Therefore, even if you set the translation preference for the field group to "Not Translatable" in WPML settings, the field group labels still appear under the "ACF Field Group" post type for translation. I hope you can understand.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance or clarification in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
