This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client wants to translate the link of the logo on their multilingual site so that it redirects to the homepage of the respective language. The site is built with Elementor, and the client is unable to find documentation on how to change the link in the logo. Solution: 1. Verify that the header is created using Elementor. 2. Translate the logo link by following the steps outlined in the WPML documentation on translating links, which can be found here: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-links/. 3. If the header has not been translated, complete the translation by accessing the header template in the WordPress admin area at
. 4. You can locate the header templates in Elementor by navigating to Elementor > Theme Builder > Header tab.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also advise checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I want to translate the link of the logo on my site, hidden link.
If I click the logo on the main language (PL) it redirects to the PL homepage. Good.
If I go to the English page hidden link and I click the logo it redirects me to the PL page: hidden link
The site uses elementor.
Symptoms:
Can't find documentation on how to change the link in the logo.
Questions:
Where/how do I change the language of the logo?
It looks like the header is created using Elementor. Could you check the header template and try translating the logo link using the method here ?https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-translate-links/
Hello, I tried to follow that guide, but the guide is wrong or incomplete.
It says to use "Advanced Translation Editor". However your colleague in a previous ticket said to not mix Advanced Translation Editor and wordpress editor.
I want to translate everything with WordPress Editor.
But still.... let's try to follow the guide.
It says "Open the content containing your link in the Advanced Translation Editor. "
Where can I find the "the content containing your link"?
It's a header!
In the page /wp-admin/admin.php?page=tm%2Fmenu%2Fmain.php i see an item called "D'Consult Header"
But there is no "open" option as the guide says.
There is a "view" option.
If I click on view the header appears. And there I have only the top bar that has options like edit, and edit with Elementor.
(screenshot attached)
But the guide doesn't talk about this.
What should I do?
Can you please provide a right/correct and complete guide?
Thanks for your reply. I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your reply. I'm not asking for a copy of the site. I'm asking for the WP admin access to your Website or staging site. Are you able to provide it?
Thanks for your reply. Alright then, please share the credentials here using the private reply option and I will check. Please make sure to have a backup before sharing your credentials.
Thanks for your reply. I've checked and I noticed that you've not translated the header here hidden link . Could you complete the translation and let me know how it goes?
Oh, yes, I'll try and let you know.
How did you get to that translatable/editable header page? I was searching it and I couldn't find how to enter there
