This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client has a page originally in Bulgarian with translations in English and Greek. The Greek version has a different structure, and the client wants to edit it in Elementor while keeping it as a translation of the Bulgarian version. In newer versions of WPML, the option to 'Translate Independently' under Language is no longer available.
Solution:
We advised the client that the 'Translate Independently' option is still available when editing a duplicated page using the WordPress Editor. However, this option does not appear when using different translation editors, such as the WPML editor for manual translations. To resolve this, the client should ensure they are using the WordPress Editor from the default language screen. For more details, we recommended checking the documentation on using different translation editors: Using Different Translation Editors for Different Pages.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket. Background of the issue:
I have a page originally in Bulgarian with translations in English and Greek. The Greek version has a different structure, and I want to edit it in Elementor while keeping it as a translation of the Bulgarian version. Previously, I could do this by clicking 'Translate Independently' under Language, but this option is no longer available in newer versions.

Symptoms:
The option to 'Translate Independently' is no longer available in newer versions of WPML.

Questions:
How can I unsync the Greek translation from the other versions while keeping it as a translation of the Bulgarian version?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us.

While you wait for my colleague to take over the ticket, let me try to help you with the issue quickly.

It still does exist when duplicate page, but could also be that you are using WPML editor while doing manual translation. Make sure you have set to use WordPress editor from default language screen:

Let us know if that helps.

Drazen

Hello Drazen,

Thank you for the information.
Although we followed the steps in the documentation you sent and have fixed the situation for now, we didn't see the "Translate Independently" button and our concern is that this might cause issues in the future.
The Greek version does have a different structure now and is still linked to the original language version of the page though.

Could this be an edge case? We want to make sure that we know how this works now with newer versions of your plugins since we might need this again in the future.

Thank you.

Hello,
My name is Carlos, and I will continue working on this ticket

After following the steps described in the guide shared by my colleague Drazen, you won't see the 'Translate independently' option, and it is expected. This 'Translate independently' option only appears when you edit a duplicated page using the WordPress Editor, which is not your case 🙂

Is there anything else you need help with?
