This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing an issue with WooCommerce Multilingual where new products were showing a refresh icon instead of a pencil icon, which used to open the advanced translations editor for older products. Instead, clicking the refresh icon opened the default WordPress editor for the whole product.
Solution:
We identified that the refresh icon indicates that the default product has been updated, but the translation needs to be refreshed to match these changes. A known issue had been causing the advanced translation editor not to open for duplicated translated products, reverting to the native WordPress editor instead. This was documented in our Errata:

The issue was resolved in WooCommerce Multilingual version 5.3.3. We asked the client to confirm that they are using this version or a newer one to ensure the fix is applied.
If the problem persists, we requested the WPML Debug information to better understand the site and system setup. The client can find guidance on how to provide this information here:

If the solution provided here is not relevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We have been translating through WooCommerce Multilingual & Multicurrency and it has worked fine. After adding new products the icons are different. It used to be and still is for older products a pencil icon and if you click it, it will open an advanced translations option. Now new ones have like a refresh sign and if you click it, it will open to edit the whole product. Do you know what might be the issue?

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're having. The refresh/update symbol suggests that changes have been made to the default product, yet the translation hasn't been updated to reflect these adjustments. However, on clicking that button, the Translation editor would open, instead of the default WordPress Editor.

However, previously, we encountered a problem where duplicating a translated product using WooCommerce's functionality led to an issue. Instead of opening the advanced translation editor for translating the newly duplicated product, WPML would revert to using the native WordPress editor. For more details, please check the Errata below.

That issue was resolved in WooCommerce Multilingual version 5.3.3. Could you please verify that you're using this version or a newer one to ensure the fix is applied?

If you're still having the issue, kindly share the WPML Debug information so that I can get a better overview of the site and system. Please check the guide below to understand how you can get the WPML debug information.

Please insert the information in the debug info box that you'll see while composing your next response.

I will check the information and let you know what to do next.

Best regards,
Prosenjit

Plugin update to WooCommerce Multilingual version 5.3.3.1 solved the issue.
