Background of the issue:
I am trying to update the content of my original language Astra footer, but it gets replaced by a German translation of an old version of the footer. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
The original language footer content is unexpectedly replaced by a German translation of an old version.

Questions:
Why is the original language footer being replaced by a German translation?
How can I prevent the original language (English) footer from reverting to an old and German version?

Please let me know if https://wpml.org/errata/admin-strings-replaced-by-translations-after-visiting-the-customizer/ helped.

I have replaced the line suggested by the fix and it seems that it might have partially fixed the problem but a part of English footer got again translated into German almost immediately after updating the footer back to English from the last unintended translation.

Can you record a short video using tool such as hidden link to show this, making sure that the workaround is still in place?

Here is a screenshot. I don't think I can create a video with loom about the ftp client.

I don't mean this part where the code was changed. I mean this:

a part of English footer got again translated into German almost immediately after updating the footer back to English from the last unintended translation.

I suppose this happens in the Customizer or wherever you see this change happening?

Yes, it changed the contents of the code in Cusomize/Appearance/Footer/ while it was originally written in English.

Can you check if this issue occurs in this sandbox?

I’ve already applied the workaround from https://wpml.org/errata/admin-strings-replaced-by-translations-after-visiting-the-customizer/.

Could you try replicating the issue? I’m wondering if a caching or other plugin might be influencing this. We recently had a similar case where NitroPack was the culprit, though I see you’re not using it.

For reference, here’s a related discussion:

The sandbox does not allow creating a similar kind of footer as I am using Astra pro in Central Asia Guide.

We do have both, server side caching and WP rocket.

Would it be possible that you try by disabling both server side caching and WP rocket? Only temporary as a test.

Or we can do this - we have an option to provide Cloudways server where we can do various test without influence of any caching.

Let me know if that would work for you and I will set up a Cloudways site, along with the instructions.

Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to disable the server side caching while I am traveling (still for a month). Could you set up a Cloudways server instead.
