Symptoms:
The issue persists even after translating the content block. No specific error messages or unexpected behavior are described.

Hi,

Are you referring to this ticket?

https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-advanced-product-fields-addons-fields-issue/?paged=2#post-17376225

If so, wasn't my colleague's suggestion good for your needs?

Which plugin is responsible for the content block you're having trouble with?

Please share your site's Debug information if you need further help with this issue. You can read about it here.

yes, I followed his instructions: Please go to "WPML > Dashboard" and resend this Content block to translation and complete the translation to 100% and save.

But this did not resolve the issue. the product addons do not show on the translated versions.

Hi,

Our second-tier supporter mentioned that the used template was "product kopie". He added the following details:

- I checked "Theme options > Products". Products are using a content block "product kopie"
- In "Content Blocks" it seems that translations for this "product kopie" template need an update.

Please go to "WPML > Dashboard" and resend this Content block to translation and complete the translation to 100% and save.

When I go to Uncode Child -> Theme Options -> Products, I can see that the selected Content Block is 'productcategory'. Please see the attached screenshot.

Can you please explain this discrepancy?
Which template do you need for Products?

Regards,
Itamar.

Hi,

Thanks for pointing out the correct place I should look at.
In WPML -> Translation -> Dashboard -> Translation Dashboard, I searched for 'product kopie' and indeed could see that it is translated into all the languages. Please see the attached screenshot. Please also ensure that the products' translations are updated. Otherwise, the translated Content Block might not be reflected on the translated products. I checked one product in English, and I can see that it is translated alright. I checked this product: hidden link

Am I missing something?
If so, can you please send me a link to a product that has this problem?
Please attach some screenshots so I could better understnad the problem.

Regards,
Itamar.

sure, please check the section where it says "Web design configurator
BOOK YOUR WEBSITE PACKAGE NOW"

there should be the product addons, which do not show up on translated products. The add-ons plugin is officially with WPML compatible.

Hi again.

Our compatibility expert provides further explanation of the situation on your site.

- The page is not using the "produkt kopie" block but the product content built with WPBakery.

- The missing section is actually a WooCommerce button: hidden link

- Inside the button, they display custom fields from the plugin WooCommerce Advanced Fields (WAF): hidden link

- Plugin listing: https://wpml.org/plugin/advanced-product-fields-for-woocommerce/
WAF's documentation explains how you need to duplicate your product and then translate it independently.

- Since the product is already translated and it's a very long page, I would rather recommend editing the English translation in the WordPress editor to add those custom fields manually.

I went ahead and checked the English translation of the product, and I could see that the fields are missing there. Please see the attached screenshot. This is where you need to add them, similar to the German product. Screenshot:hidden link. This should resolve the problem with that section.

I want to remind you that in our previous ticket regarding this issue, I already mentioned the recommended approach (as outlined in the Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce plugin documentation) for translating products with fields. Please see it here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-advanced-product-fields-addons-fields-issue/#post-17199192.

We hope that this information will help you solve this problem.

Regards,
Itamar.

But how will this resolve the issue when using WPML auto translation. I simply want to use auto translate in translation management and send all products for translation with Deepl. But when doing this, the custom fields are not translated / do not appear on translations.

Hi,

I apologize if my explanations up to this point have been unclear. Upon reviewing the history of our discussion (in three separate tickets), I can see that I already mentioned to you the bottom line, which is: the fields generated by the Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce plugin cannot be translated automatically. This was already pointed out by me on our first chat on July 3rd here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/auto-translate-issue/#post-17198871. In this chat, I mentioned this:

Their documentation explicitly specifies that you must not use WPML's Translation Editor to translate products that include fields. They wrote: "If you are using WPML’s translation editor, make sure it is turned off. Switch the toggle to OFF as seen below:"

I'm also sorry that the support team of the Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce plugin provided you with inaccurate information and sent you to our support instead of simply checking their documentation or asking their developers about the correct way to use their plugin with WPML. Of course, we have no control over that.

At this point, I can offer two of the following solutions.

A. Use our suggestion to edit the English translation in the WordPress editor to add those custom fields manually. You can use online tools like Google Translate or ChatGPT to translate the fields and then insert the translation into the English product.

B. Consider using another officially compatible custom fields plugin. Choosing ACF is a good option. It allows you to translate the fields when translating products automatically. Please see our guide here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/. Note that, depending on the kind of fields you need, you might need the ACF Pro version: hidden link.

Regards,
Itamar.

thanks for the clarification. One more idea. When going another way and creating product field groups under woocommerce - product fields. Can these be auto translated?
I found this hidden link

Hi,

Unfortunately not. It is the same thing as was already explained here.
