This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client was unable to use the WPML Translation Editor for translating a blog post from English to French because it was greyed out. The message indicated that the content must be translated manually due to the translation option selected for the 'Europe' field group. Additionally, the option to assign the post to a translator was not available in the Translation Management page.
Solution:
We asked the client to provide temporary access to their website (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem was replicated, so we could examine the issue more closely. We emphasized the importance of having a backup before proceeding with any changes, recommending the use of the UpdraftPlus plugin for backup purposes. We also informed the client that resolving the issue might involve deactivating and reactivating plugins and the theme, as well as making configuration changes, hence the need for their consent.
If you're experiencing a similar issue, we recommend checking your Advanced Custom Fields' Multilingual Setup to ensure that the fields are set to be translatable with WPML. If the problem persists, please consider providing us with temporary access to your site for further assistance. Remember to back up your site before making any changes or providing access.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, do not hesitate to open a new support ticket with us.
