Hi,
No, it should works as Hungarian language, if you check the image, I setup also for this second language the Hungarian language.
I use language files for translations (edited via Poedti) and I have all of the necessary translated language po/mo files, the nev Hungarian language page versions should load these language files.
I would like to have only the duplication of the current Hungarian website, that is all. And I need it achieve via wpml to use wpml translation system for transfering / copying the content from the original page to the secong Hungarian page.
Thank you.

In WPML, while content (like pages and posts) can be duplicated or copied between languages, strings (such as texts from themes, plugins, or custom fields) are handled differently. These strings won’t automatically transfer just by duplicating the content.

They either need to be translated manually in WPML > String Translation, or imported using .po/.mo files specifically for the new language variant. So if the second Hungarian language uses a different locale code (for example, hu_HU2 or hu_custom), it will also require a separate set of translated .po/.mo files.

That said, it may work if you take your existing .po/.mo files (for example: pluginname-hu_HU.po and pluginname-hu_HU.mo), copy them, and rename them to match the locale of the second Hungarian language (e.g., pluginname-hu_custom.po and pluginname-hu_custom.mo). These should be placed in wp-content/languages or wp-content/languages/plugins depending on the plugin or theme they relate to.

Hi,

Really is it the easiest way to have the current page twice vis wpml? It seems to be extremly overcomplicated (and also edit alwayst he language po/mo files two times / any change).

Maybe it is my fault, and I didn't summarized the goal enoght clear.

Again: I just need to have the original Hungarian page in an additional Hungarian version, on an another domain, within one WordPress site, that is all!

I cannot imagine, that there is no another simple way to rech this goal.

Thank you very much.

You can just create a translation of the original Hungarian page within WPML.

As for the strings, there’s no need to worry about translating all of them twice. Based on your screenshot, it looks like there are only a handful of frontend strings, specifically the ones shown on hidden link.
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/

You can just translate those few strings via WPML’s String Translation — and if any other strings show up on the frontend in that second version, you can translate those too. No need to manage duplicate .po/.mo files or overcomplicate the process.

Hi,
It is a totally misunderstanding, the second language page is for the event upload:
hidden link
and you have to see, that there are a lot of string and this page is only one from the lot of other event pages. And the system / current setup work also this way on the other pages of the second language version.
But I have every necessary po/mo file for all of the sed plugins, so of course i wouldn't like to translate it via wpml string traslato, the second website version have to load these Hungarian language files.
THAT IS ALL.
If ypu srill don't undestand the situation, than please be so kind and hand over the ticket, I cannot waste more time for the explanation.
Thank you very much.

Hi,

I'll continue to help you with this issue. I've read the entire thread here in this ticket. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused to you. However, it is important for me to stress that what you are trying to achieve is not a common thing our users need and not what WPML has been naturally designed to do. That being said, I think it is achievable also by some of the suggestions made by Bruno, my colleague.

I want to ask a few questions, and I invite you to please add your site's debug information and give me access to your site. I may wish to consult our second-tier supporters about your case, and this will be required.

1. Which Language URL format do you want to use for your site?
Is it 'Different languages in directories' or 'A different domain per language'?
This setting is in WPML -> Languages -> Language URL format.
I'm asking this because after reading this thread, it is unclear to me which method you want to use, and it is essential to know that for further debugging the issue.

2. Is this the Event Manager plugin you're using?
