Was the original post updated since September 2023?

Which translation method to you use to create the translation?

- WPML Translation Editor
or

Best regards
Andreas

Hello,

No original post wasn't updated since september 2023.

The current status is Clockwork

We use WPML Translation Editor.

This article had already been completely translated. So we don't understand what's going on.

The "Clockwork" symbol means that there is a translation in progress that has not been finished. Do you see many empty segments when opening the translation on the WPML Translation Editor?

I can see a new job was created on 2025-02-06 which is only completed to 66%.

I tried to review older jobs for this content, but they are sadly too long ago and no longer accessible.

Comparing the current translations with the French post, I can confirm that there is untranslated content on the translation editor which is also reflected on the page.

The Advanced Translation Editor does have an integrated translation memory, which saves each segment. If the segment was edited earlier, it should be saved in the translation memory. This memory only would get overwritten if the original content was edited.

This said, a translation loss usually should not occur, unless the prior translation was not saved correctly to translation memory. (likely a connection issue or a bug)

---

This means I can currently not confirm why the translation is incomplete, but I can see on our system that there were issues with delivering the translation back in December 2023.

Could you please go to WPML > Translation Management > Dashboard and create a job for the post in question? Then let me know the estimated word count for completing this translation.

I have this message : Word count estimate: 6270 words in 1 document(s)

We have this problem on several articles.

Also when only 1 word is deleted in a paragraph in English we lose all the text of this paragraph in French

If there are further posts affected, please provide me the permalinks for the original posts so that I can take a look at the system.

I will be glad to compensate you for any job for which I can confirm that a translation failed in the past, but please take note that I can not compensate any credits if the original content has been edited.

When it comes to edits on the original content, it might be expected that various segments are deleted after only editing one paragraph. This mostly is controlled by each block or text. There can be even more affected segments if a Classic HTML Block is used.

I can also offer to take a look as admin and revise how the original post has been created. Maybe there might be some optimization that could be taken into consideration, like splitting the content into more blocks.
