Background of the issue:
I am trying to update a page in English, which is the main language. When I update it, the system correctly identifies that the other languages (SE, DA, NO) need translation. I click the translate icon, which takes me to ATE. Here is the link to the page where the issue can be seen: hidden link.
Symptoms:
In ATE, only the English text is available on the left side, and everything is blank on the right. When I click the +, it imports the English text instead of showing the existing translated text.
Questions:
Why is the existing swedish text not appearing on the right side in ATE?
How can I ensure that the updated or new sections are correctly translated?
I don't want to translate everything again, only new or updated sections
In your dev website, I ran some default troubleshooting steps, deactivated and reactivated the plugins (except for Locotranslate, as it conflicts with WPML). After doing that, the issue seems to be solved. Can you please confirm on your side?
If so, I can perform the same steps on the production website, after you confirm you have a full backup of it.

I just checked, and the problem still persists. Did an update of hidden link that existed and is fully translated in EN, SE, DA. on the english main page i added 2 more sections, and updated it (you can see the 3 repeated sections in the beginning hidden link)
When i go to the ATE im still met with nothing on the right hand side, and clicking the plus only ads the english text hidden link
Thank you for sharing. Please explain in detail, how you created the translations, in the first place. Was it using the Advanced Translation Editor?
Have you perhaps used the page builder to create them?
I'm asking that, because I can't reproduce the issue. I've finished the translation by completing all fields on Norwegian and saved. After updating the original page a few times, the issue didn't occur - the Norwegian version stayed intact.
Our site was created in Polylang - everything translated. We have then migrated to wpml.
It seems you focus on what happens if we translate a page in its entirety with WPML - thats NOT the problem.
Its our existing pages that exist in DA, EN, SE. Pick any page, make edits to the EN version. It will then mark that DA and SE needs translation/update - All is correct up until this point.
In my example i duplicated an element 3 times.
When clicking translate for the SE page, opening the ATE it will show the english page on the left, with the 3 modules, and on the right it will be completely blank - it will not pull in any original swedish text.
In the ATE it should pull in all the original englsih text (it does correctly) and all the swedish text (this is whats not working), and then have blank boxes for what needs to be translated.
Thank you for clarifying. I checked with my colleagues, and was able to confirm:
If you migrate the data from Polylang to WPML, that means the translation content is translated manually on your site, and the translated content will not show on the Advanced Translation Editor. Because it is not saved to the Translation Memory on our server. Please read more about this case in the documentation:
As a workaround, you can try to switch to the "WordPress Editor" option, for the pages of which the translations were migrated from Polylang. I couldn't confirm that on the website, as I'm blocked out again.
