@henningv-2 The fix has been included in the AIOSEO plugin by the plugin author, could you please take a complete backup of your site and make sure to update the AIOSEO and WPML plugins to the latest version and see if this resolves your issue?

The hidden (even deleted now!) zh-hans language still shows up in the last few links as I'm sure you can see yourself in our sitemap. I don't seem to have access to new versions. I still see AISEO v4.3.5.1 & WPML Multilingual CMS v4.6.3

The new version for AIOSEO is v4.3.6.1 -- Can you please update to that and see the result, you can download it from your account?

Today we received the AIOSEO Version 4.3.6.1 but the problem is still there. I deactivated and reactivated AIOSEO, disabled and reanabled sitemaps, cleared all caches. And still the last 6 links in the sitemap are zh-hans. They do not show any date for the Last Updated column.

We have received feedback from the author.
AIOSEO developers have fixed all these issues now. They will include the fixes in the v4.4.1 update.

We now have AIOSEO 4.4.1 but the issue remains. I see in WPML > Languages >
You deactivated the following language(s) from your site, but there are still some existing translations saved in your database.
If you don't plan to activate this language again, you can delete the associated content from your database.
Language Navigation Menus Portfolio Categories Delete content
Chinese (Simp) 4 6
But I have tried repeated to delete these and clear the cache and the 10 items remain. How can I delete them?

1. I have reviewed the AIOSEO plugin changelog, and they have mentioned a fix for the issue. You can find more information about it here: hidden link.
I will replicate this issue on a new WordPress site and keep you and our compatibility team updated on the fix.
In the meantime, I suggest that you also report this issue to the author of the AIOSEO plugin.
2. Regarding the deleting content of deactivated language issues, it's a different issue and will be handled separately as per our support policy. I have created a new ticket for this:
