This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client is having trouble transitioning their development site to a production site. They have followed the instructions for registering development sites and tried to update the URL, but nothing happened. The development and production sites share the same URL, and the client is using SSH port forwarding for development. They want to ensure that the transition to the production site is smooth and without the development site banner.
Solution:
We recommend following the steps to remove the development notice as outlined in the guide: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-remove-the-this-site-is-registered-on-wpml-org-as-a-development-site-notice/.
Additionally, you should:
1. Access your WPML account at https://wpml.org/account/sites/.
2. Select the Gear icon next to your site.
3. Enter the production site URL and click the "Publish" button to convert your development site to a production site.
4. If the domain for your production site is different, generate a new license for that domain.
5. Activate the production site using the new license key.
If the solution provided here is outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
