This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is new to using WPML and needs guidance on setting it up and making it work correctly.
Solution:
We manually translated the content from the Home page to demonstrate what a translated page looks like. We recommend that you either remove this later or deactivate English in WPML -> Settings if it's not needed publicly. Additionally, we adjusted the dropdown language switcher by removing the #ffffff color defined in the language switcher settings to make the text visible. It's important to translate the templates to ensure that headers are correctly output on the translated versions. If you're experiencing similar issues, we recommend checking your language switcher settings and ensuring your templates are fully translated.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hi,

there are several options. I can't see which one you are using right now.

The easiest is using the "Menu Langauge Switcher" described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/. Inside the options, you can activate a dropdown.

If you use a custom language switcher on a specific theme position, you can also activate a dropdown on the "Customize" button: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/adding-language-switchers-using-php-and-shortcodes.

Best Regards
Marcel

How exactly did you insert the language switcher? You didn't provide enough information to tell you the exact steps. Can you please provide some screenshots?

I recommend you use the regular "Menu Language Switcher" described in this video from your theme authors: hidden link.

How did you add it to the template? Using a shortcode or via PHP? If you used any of those methods, you are using a "Custom language switcher", and you need to configure the dropdown as described in the link before https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/adding-language-switchers-using-php-and-shortcodes/ on the "Customize" button.

Thanks for the info. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

My friend tells me that, the reason why it didn`t show the arrow-down is that my site don`t have started to translate. Cause I haven`t finished the site text work, then I choosed the option of translate later when i activated your WPML. But i wanna check what the switcher will look like in my site, although i haven`t finishe this site, I still enabled the starting tranlate button to try to achieve it, however i failed again

Hi,

You already have 22 translations finished that are waiting for review (not published yet, see on the right top of your screenshot), which is why your credits are finished. You can review one page from that list, then open the Front End, switch the language switcher (which will then be activated for your secondary language), and see what it will look like.

You can review that page as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-review-automatic-translations-on-your-site/#reviewing-your-sites-translations-yourself, then it should work :).

Best Regards
Marcel

It says "Pending Review". You need to finish the review by clicking the "Review" button, which is viewable in the link I provided. The translation is finished but NOT published yet.
