Ben

Background of the issue:
I am trying to edit a translated post on a website that uses EN and CN languages. A custom post was added to EN and translated to CN using WPML classic editor. Both posts are online: EN: hidden link CN: hidden link. You can switch between these using the language switcher in the header.

Symptoms:
When trying to edit the CN translation, I receive the error message: "You attempted to edit an item that doesn't exist. Perhaps it was deleted?" The post has not been deleted and is live.

Questions:
Why am I receiving an error message when trying to edit the CN translation?
How can I resolve the issue of not being able to edit the CN translation?

Hi,

This ticket has been inactive for quite a while. I haven't received a reply from you, so I've transformed this chat into a support ticket.

You experience a known issue that is not related to WPML. You can read about it here.

https://wpml.org/errata/wordpress-6-7-you-attempted-to-edit-an-item-that-doesnt-exist-with-translated-post-type-slugs/

Please use the suggested workaround on the errata page.

Regards,
Itamar.
