Hi,
I did that as you can see on the screenshot but now it is linking to the german page on the english version.

yeah thanks it works now. No idea why it didn't get saved accordingly.

One more thing that I mentioned earlier: we built the page on our agency server and would need to move the page to another domain. Is that a problem for the translations etc. or should that work smoothly?

Glad that helped. Moving your current Website to another domain is possible and it is not a hassle at all. Just refer to the instructions here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/ and let me know if it helps.
