This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
If you're trying to translate the entire page on your site using WPML but find that it does not translate the main menu and footer, you might need to apply some manual settings.
Solution:
1. For the menu, you need to manually create them in the second language:
- Go to Appearance → Menus.
- Click the language link you want to create a menu for.
- Name your new menu and click Create Menu.
- Finally, add menu items and save.
For more details, visit Translating Menus.
2. For the footer, depending on whether it was created via Elementor templates or WordPress widgets, follow the respective guide:
- Elementor and WPML
- Translating Widgets
3. If you need to translate specific strings such as text in the header or footer, use the WPML > String Translation. Search for the text, translate it, and for texts not appearing, use the Admin Texts Translation link under Utilities.
4. Create a widget for each language and set it to show only for that language. For more information, visit Translating Widgets.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket.
