This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You want to use different images depending on the language of the page on your site. You were initially instructed to open your page in Elementor in the language in question and add the media from there, despite a notification advising against this method. However, once you send the page to translation, the image reverts back to the original language.
Solution:
We recommend using the media translation addon to handle different images for different language versions of your pages. This method avoids the issue of images reverting to the original language after translation. For detailed guidance on how to use this addon, please visit our documentation: Media Translation.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, or if it does not apply to your specific case, we encourage you to open a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I want to use a different image depending on the language of the page on my site hidden link. I was instructed by your team to open my page in the language in question in Elementor and add the media from there, although a notification says it's not recommended.

Symptoms:
Once I send the page to translation, the image reverts back to the original language of the page.

Thanks for contacting us. That is not the correct way to translate images. Please use the media translation addon as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

Could you give this a try?

Hi Kor,

this worked thank you.
So are there any situations where I should use this "not recommended" edit in a secondary language?

Because this was what I was told to do in a previous ticket

Thanks for your reply. My colleague could be referring to the manual translation as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/ .

If you only want to translate the image, please use the method that I shared.

Hi Kor,

In the blog post you sent, the editing takes place with Gutenberg.
Is it through this step (see screenshot) that the same process is achieved with Elementor ?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it's the same. You need to navigate to the primary language page without opening the Elementor editor and click on the "WordPress Editor" as shown in the article that I've shared here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Then, this page can only be edited manually.

Thanks for your reply.
That sounds strange to me because once you have installed Elementor, you get the notification that editing on WordPress would break the design.

Thanks for your reply. Switching from WPML Translation Editor to WordPress Editor shouldn't affect any layout. But just in case, kindly backup your Website before you proceed.
