[Resolved] Moved Site to New Domain - WPML No Longer Working
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: After moving the site to a new domain and updating URLs in the database, the Translation Dashboard displays as a blank page, and content translation is not possible. The issue persists even after switching themes. Solution: 1. Check for a fatal error due to a missing file in the active theme (Betheme Child). If the problem continues when using the parent theme, it might still be related to WPML's Translation Dashboard template. 2. Ensure all plugins are up-to-date by visiting https://online-casino-nigeria.ng/wp-admin/update-core.php 3. Clear the cache memory. 4. Address any writing permission issues in the .htaccess file as indicated here: https://online-casino-nigeria.ng/wp-admin/options-permalink.php 5. If the problem remains unresolved, consider setting up a staging site using the WP Staging plugin and share the staging site credentials for further investigation.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please check for related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify you have the latest versions of themes and plugins, and consider opening a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
I suspect that the cause of this issue was the migration process. Can you migrate the site again using the All-In-One WP Migration plugin or Duplicator plugin and check if the issue has disappeared?
In this case, I think the best scenario would be to completely uninstall WPML and then reinstall it. To do this, I will need your confirmation that there is no translated content and that you authorize me to reinstall the WPML plugins.
Please confirm you have created a full site backup that you can restore if necessary.
Ok, so in this case, uninstalling and installing the WPML plugins won't work. Do you authorize me to create a copy of the site to escalate this ticket to our 2nd tier of support?
I have created a copy of the site and escalated this ticket ot our 2nd tier of support, where our specialists will take a deeper look at the issue and will try to isolate its cause.
I will get back to you as soon as I get an answer.
Please follow these steps suggested by our 2nd-tier specialists:
On the client site, I see that some scripts are attempted to be loaded from a different domain that is not resolved - online-casino-india.in
This could be happening, for example, if the scripts were cached and processed by WPRocket and the folder is not writable.
So I suggest fixing the WPRocket config and removing the cache folder.
At present, WPRocket complains that it cannot edit the .htaccess file rules.
Can you tell me the results of the steps mentioned above?
I'm doing a site restore to a previous point so that I can go back through the migration process again, will be in touch to ensure that the proper steps are taken.
