This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unable to view content in the WPML >> String Translation page, which appears empty. Additionally, when editing a page in both languages, changes made in the default language do not save correctly, causing the translated page to revert to the original.
Solution:
First, ensure you have a backup of your site. Then, follow the workaround provided in the WPML errata page to address missing database tables related to string translations. You can find the necessary steps here: Missing _icl_strings and _icl_string_translations Data Tables.
If the issue persists or if the solution provided here becomes outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I purchased the WPML plugin a few days ago and I’m trying to access the string translation section to translate some words.

Symptoms:
There is a problem with the String Translation table in your site. This problem is not causing a problem running the site right now, but can become a critical issue in the future. WPML support team knows how to fix it. Please add a message in the relevant support thread and we'll fix it for you. I’m accessing the string translation section to translate some words, but nothing is showing up.

Questions:
What would you need from me to resolve this?

Thanks, I finally reinstalled the plugin with the new settings and it worked. Unfortunately, I had to redo the adjustments I had made, but once I reinstalled it, everything worked fine.
