Thank you for the additional instructions, Mateus.

I am unable to send screenshots since I reverted the site to a backup after I saw the consequences.

Also, now we are running a donation campaign on the live site and cannot apply potentially disruptive actions. I can try again in the weekend at night perhaps.

I will try to explain by words though in order to get better prepared.

When bulk deleting the product categories translations in French (I did one language at a time just to see how it goes) I noticed that the new translations for category "Body Therapies - body-therapies" were both (I include name and slug)

Therapies Corporelle - therapies-corporelle
and
Therapies Corporelle - therapies-corporelle-fr

The WPML Product Category Taxonomy (because it is syncronised translations I guess) page is using this translation "Therapies Corporelle - therapies-corporelle-fr" - my guess is the automated sync is trying to create that product category since it cannot find it in the system

The other issue:

Body Therapies is a Parent Product Category and it has Child Product Categories (in English), but after doing the translation as in the steps above all French Product Categories were at the same level (so Parent Categories). That would mean having to complete in all Product Categories in French their parent category in order to restore it to how it should be.

This whole action was also very demanding on the CPU already so I think it will take a lot to re-establish the system to how it should be.

How I can I deal with these consequences?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi there,

Thanks for your return.

First, about this issue:

Body Therapies is a Parent Product Category and it has Child Product Categories (in English), but after doing the translation as in the steps above all French Product Categories were at the same level (so Parent Categories). That would mean having to complete in all Product Categories in French their parent category in order to restore it to how it should be.

You can try a re-synchronization in the WPML -> Taxonomy Translation section - a button for this should appear by going to the 'Product categories' option.

Now, regarding the other issue you reported, I'm afraid it is necessary to check the dashboard area to fully understand it. The behavior you describe is not normal, but I can't tell for sure what's happening without the access.

Therefore, I recommend that you set a staging version of the website and do the tests there. Then, if possible:

- record a video showing the steps you're following and the results of these actions
- provide us with the staging access (your next response will be private)

If you prefer, we can also set a copy version of the website, hosted in our servers. Just let me know and we'll create an app for you.

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

It is not resolved. Keeping this open for now, until Corina tries again. Last time it failed.
