This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with parts of their website created with Smart Slider

Solution:
Smart Slider is not officially compatible with WPML and recommended that the client contact Smart Slider's support to request full compatibility with WPML by just joining our Go Global Program (https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/)

To handle the immediate translation issue, we suggested using WPML's shortcodes to register strings that do not appear as translated: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-coding-api/shortcodes/#wpml-string and advised the client to try translating the slides using this method.

This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.

Hi Alejandro,

Thank you for your help.
There are some parts of the website that are still not translated, the beggining of the main page for ex. When I click on " Edit Translation" the non translated text is not there.
When you go to "Contact", there are also non translated words...when you go to "Choose by" (this also has to be translated better but I don't know how) everythnig is in Bulgarian. How can I acces to these non translated parts and translate them, please ?
Regards

I tried accessing elementor on your site but i get this error: hidden link
and i tested this with and without WPML and the error persisted, however it only happens on the original page, not the translated one where i managed to see that the part that wasn't translating came from a slider called "smart slider"

Please check this link from the smartslider author: hidden link

That plugin is not officially compatible with us which means that we do not handle any type of compatibility with it, but they do seem to work or have some compatibility with us so you can try to reach out to them and see if apart from what's on that link there's something else that you need to do.

Let us know afterwards (with the information they provide) so we can see how we can help out as well 🙂

Regards.

Ok, let's break it down and tackle each part separately.

Let's start with the initial part of the page. the slider. please watch this video: hidden link

The problem there is that smartslider is not officially compatible with WPML. for this i'd strongly suggest that you talk to their support and ask them to make this plugin fully compatible with us.

We can help them if they contact us from here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/go-global-program/

To solve this problem the easiest way is to use our shortcodes: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-coding-api/shortcodes/#wpml-string

with this one you can register strings that don't appear as translated which in this case works wonderfully for the slides.

Try it out, translate it and then let me know what else needs to be translated and i'll try to find you a solution and walk you through it.

Hi Alejandro,

Thank you for your video, the translation is done.
Only the title is not translated ( Добре дошли ) and the "Shop" ( магазин) below the text.

Regards

Hello,

I'm not sure where the text you mention is referenced, please send the link and the section where it is when you see content missing so i can help you out because i don't understand bulgarian and the content you specified can be anywhere.

i checked your site and found the text on the shop page untranslated: hidden link

this text is coming from widgets in WordPress so they have to be translated as referenced in this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-widgets/

-------------

I also saw the titles on the slider and i already mentioned how they are translated https://wpml.org/forums/topic/some-parts-of-my-site-are-not-translated/#post-14928631

however, you need to follow the same method for the title and everything in the slider. i only did it for 2 sections to show you how it would work, you'll have to do the rest (That will also help you get familiar with how shortcodes work and how to translate them).

You can use the info on the video to guide yourself but let me know if there's something tha you don't understand and i'll gladly explain it to you.

Regards.

Hi !

I succeed to translate the main "welcome" text and "this website uses cookies", but I stil can't find these two things to translate :

"Добре дошли в Perfume Echoes" and "МАГАЗИН" - it means SHOP on my main page :

hidden link

~~~~~~~~~~
The other ticket for the menu "Contact" was closed, so I answer you here.
You told me to see the guide how to translate WP forms. The guide wants me to purchase WP Multilingual, but I already done that.
Then when I go to WPML Translation management - Select items for translation , I can't find WP forms or WP Forms Multilingual to translate it.
Regards,
Daniela
That text comes from the plugin smart slider. all the content in that section comes from there.
You can find it here: hidden link
And you can translate it using the information on this reply: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/some-parts-of-my-site-are-not-translated/#post-14928631
there's a video there that shows you how to do it exactly on that slider and all you have to do now is apply the same thing to the content that you can't se translated yet.
Try it out and let me know how it goes.
------------
Let's first tackle this issue and i'll help you with the contact form as soon as you confirm the slider text has been translated, ok? this way we keep things clean.
Regards.
Hi Alejandro,
I contacted the smartslider support and they send me this mesage:
"Hi Daniela!
Thanks for contacting us!
Translation of the slider content does not depend on us, so we have no control over what WPML can translate unfortunately, but we have met plugins before that were able to translate the slider content as well, like TranslatePress.
But most translation plugins work in a way that you make different sliders for the different languages.
Then in the post/page of the given language you publish the slider with the correct language.
You can find more information about Smart Slider 3 on multi-language websites:
i'm sorry if i wasn't clear before, the video i sent you shows you how you can use our translation shortcode to wrap the text you want to translate from the slider around it (The shortcode) and make it translatable.
It's the only way it can work and it's how i made the other parts of the slider translatable. the same applies to the headline, i suppose since it works in the same way 🙂
here's a video showing you how it works on the headline and the button: hidden link
At this point you can do the same to the other sliders. if you can't understand the video, if you can't understand the procedure i showed you, please tell me where are you getting stuck because this procedure has to be done because the slider plugn you're using is not compatible with WPML by default so you have to "manually" register the texts (called a "string") so you can have it displayed in a translated way.
Regards.
Hi Alejandro,
I tried to understand your explanations with short codes but infortunately I can't do it, it's too technical for me.
Normally another person was in charge with all this, but he's unvailable till march so I have to finish this translation by my own.
So please, can you translate these several non translated details on the website, please? I want to launch it in English for Christmas.
Thank you 🙂
I registered the strings using the shortcode workflow as i showed you in my last few videos and they appear now in hidden link (WPML > String Translation)
You can go ahead and translate the strings so they appear as translated in the front-end. remember to clear your cache when you do, in case they don't appear as translated.
Regards.
