Hello,

I have a multilang website, with cutom post types having ACF fields, when I try to edit an ACF field value of the translated post all the acf fields appear locked with the message : The field is locked for editing because WPML will copy its value from the original language.

hidden link

This problem happened after an update of the plugin to the latest version, I need to be able to edit the post data from any lang and have the data synchronized between the two.

This is an urgent matter as the website in online.

Best regards.

Hi,

thanks for contacting us.

If the fields' translation preferences are set to copy, then the experienced behavior is expected.

I can see some things that need fixing though
1. ACFML should be updated (current version is 2.0.5)
2. you need to increase your WP Memory Limit https://wpml.org/it/faq/checklist-before-opening-a-ticket-in-wpml-support/#how-to-increase-your-sites-memory-limit
3. the post type acf-field-group is set to translatable. Please set it to do not translate in WPML > Settings > Post type translation

After doing that, please review your traslation preferences for single fields in the Field Group. By default we use what suggested here https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/ but using the Expert mode you can change them as you prefer.
