Hello,
we are trying to translate some strings inserted into the database from the "Divi-Modules – Table Maker" plugin, because the WPML Editor doesn't show them, and we don't want to use the Divi Builder, in order not to lose the sync for the translated pages with the original language page.

So we tried to use the string translation feature and all the other translation methods suggested on this help page:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/

but we didn't have any success.

So we would like to know how we can get those strings translated.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting WPML support.

Looks like the "Divi-Modules – Table Maker" is not fully compatible or tested with WPML as it's not showing when I try to search for the plugin here https://wpml.org/plugin/

Anyway, I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply.

I've inserted the custom XML configuration here hidden link and it should display on the "Advanced Translation Editor" now as shown in the attached screenshot.

I've followed the instructions here https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/page-builders/how-to-register-page-builder-modules-and-theme-options/

Hello, thanks for your support. Now the translation of the tables works on that page.
But we still cannot see the table header terms (and other datas) on pages like this one:

hidden link

for example, there is no "prestazioni" term, in the Advanced WPML Editor, for that page.

How could we translate terms like that?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

You need to make minor changes to the page so that it refreshes the "Advanced Translation Editor". You can check now.

Hello, I re-saved the IT page to make the table strings appear in the editor.
I modified the texts through the editor, ticking off those that did not change and translating only one header column for test (MOTOREX EN).

The result however is not good, you can see all the codes inside the cells, as you can check here:

Thanks.

Thanks for your patience.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but in order to proceed with troubleshooting, we kindly request a site snapshot. Alternatively, with your permission, we can create a snapshot on our own.

For this purpose, we typically recommend using the free plugin "Duplicator." If you are already familiar with how Duplicator works ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/), please skip the following steps and simply send me the archive file you downloaded.

To assist you further, please follow these instructions:
Watch the Duplicator instructions video: hidden link

Refer to the instructions provided by WPML on how to provide supporters a copy of your site: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/

If the archive file exceeds 400MB in size, please utilize Duplicator's file filters to exclude the cache, wp-uploads directory, media, and archive files.

Once you have the archive file, please share the link with us. You can use services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar platforms as the snapshot file will likely be large.

Please note that your next reply will be private, visible only to you and me. You can paste the link to the file there. Rest assured that once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local site.

Thanks for your reply.

I have feedback and this is the correct XML configuration file. Kindly insert the custom XML configuration below into WPML > Settings > Custom XMl Configuration. Then, make minor edits to the primary language page and translate the page again and it will display correctly.

<wpml-config>
  <shortcodes>
    <shortcode>
      <tag>dvmd_table_maker_item</tag>
      <attributes>
        <attribute>col_label</attribute>
        <attribute encoding="allow_html_tags">col_content</attribute>
      </attributes>
    </shortcode>
  </shortcodes>
</wpml-config>

However, the author themselves are recommending to duplicate the tables instead of translating them with WPML due to the degree of complexity.

Please let me know how it goes.
