Hello,

We have a Blog articles that is available in several languages and we would like to change the Author of this articles per language. We know that we can be able to change this on String Translation where we can assign a specific Author for each language. However there are also instances that the Author of the translated article is different so we're thinking if we can just add the "Author" field to be translated on ATE to have more flexibility.

Looking forward for your response. Thank you!

Hi there,

Good morning! To help us investigate the issue you're facing with the author name translation, could you please provide your website's debug information? This will give us a better idea of what might be causing the problem.

You can find more information on how to do this here: https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/.

I appreciate your cooperation.

Best regards,
Faisal

Hi there,

I was unable to locate the blog article on your site. Could you provide me with the link so I can access it directly?

Additionally, could you please explain how you have configured the author field in the backend? Are you using a meta box, a custom field, or the default WordPress option?

If you could let me know more details about the setup, I can provide more specific guidance to fix this issue.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Best regards,
Faisal

Hello,

Sorry for my late response.
Here's a sample blog article :hidden link

We wanted to include the Author name on the Advanced Translation editor so we can translate/change it based on language/country.

As for the setup, we created a page template that calls this field inside a function. Let me know if you need more details on this.

Thank you!

Hi there,

Good afternoon! Did you build a custom theme and a custom single.php file? Or did you use Gutenberg to create the single blog post template?

I might need your website access to check the backend. Before that, could you try the following two methods:

1. First, go to WPML > String Translation and check the box called "Look for strings while pages are rendered". Then, go to the front end of a page where the string is showing up and return to WPML > String Translation to search for the string and see if it now shows up.

2. If you cannot find the strings inside the WPML > String Translation, they might be added as admin text. You can find out how to locate and translate admin text strings by following this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/

Give it a try, and let me know how that goes!

Warm regards,
Faisal
