Background of the issue:
I would like to translate our Elementor footer. I followed some instructions which said to use translation management but that is not showing on our version of WPML. I also followed some instructions by a previous support agent that said I needed to unregister the wpml on an old developers account and register via our wpml account. This is now done but still not working.

Symptoms:
Translation management is not showing on our version of WPML.

Questions:
How can I translate our Elementor footer using WPML?
Why is translation management not showing on our version of WPML?

Hi,

before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

For several years, Translation Management has been part of the Core version of WPML. You should see it with your actual license.

Can you please post a screenshot from the "WPML" menu? It should be available there as the first option.

Best Regards
Marcel

Thank You!

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.

You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.

IMPORTANT
-Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
-If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Hi,

all looks correct. To further check your exact database entries, can you please provide a Duplicator copy of your website as described here? https://wpml.org/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/. I suspect a DB key related to the finished WPML setup is wrong. Have you ever used the WPML blog license?

Thank You!

Hi,

We’ve identified the issue (by adjusting a value in the database). It appears to be caused by a previously used blog license that gets overwritten. To resolve this, please follow these steps:

1) Go to hidden link and click on “Unregister WPML from the site.” This will activate an input field—please leave the page open for a moment.
2) Visit https://wpml.org/account/sites/ and delete the current key for the site.
3) Generate a new key for hidden link (without "www").
4) Enter the newly generated key in the input field from step 1.

This should fix the issue.

Best regards,
Marcel
