Background of the issue:
I am implementing WooCommerce webshops integrated with Sunrisecloud.com ERP. The production site is hidden link, and products, categories, etc., are posted from the ERP into WooCommerce using the API. We work with sites that can have over 7000+ products. All works fine for one language, but now the site is growing, and we added other languages like English and French.
Symptoms:
When I translate the product category, it creates a new category, requiring us to link the products to the new categories. This causes issues like categories not showing, products not showing, and syncing problems with the ERP.
Questions:
How can I translate the category name but keep the same category id so the products remain linked to the same category and just switch the label when switching the language?
I tried keeping the same slug but is not working.
