[Resolved] Turning off blog comments on translated blog pages
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

I am getting a lot of spam comments on my blog so I decided to turn off comments under SETTINGS - DISCUSSION. I unchecked "Allow people to submit comments on new posts" and set "Automatically close comments on posts older than X days" to 0.
This should have stopped all comments on my blog, but it only stopped the comments on the English posts. For some reason the translated posts are still getting spam comments. How can I turn off comments on all translated pages (not one by one manually).
Thank you for contacting WPML Support, I will be happy to help you.
As of now, WPML doesn't support direct translation of user comments. This feature is not currently available, and unfortunately, we don't have a specific timeframe for when or if it will be added.
In order to further troubleshoot your issue, I would suggest you please try clearing the website's cache from WP Rocket plugin and server-side cache if any is in use, and check if the issue persists.
* Also, I would suggest considering the use of a specific plugin / custom coding solution to disable comments on all pages of your website.
Hi Marsel, you can close this ticket, it seems to have solved itself, I think the posts still getting the comments were old, but not the new posts are not showing the problem. All seems ok.
